If the "unpartitioned space" is before your current partition, you can't extend the partition that way.

 

You can make a partition larger if there's free space after it, but not larger into free space before it. The only way to do this would be to use bootable utilities like gparted to move the partition to the front of the drive, then extend it.

 

However, this is just a guess - if you could screenshot Disk Management for us we can give you more specific info.

So the m2 as partitions, try  > partition magic <. There others that can do the job .

 

Do a google search  for hard drive partitioning.
