Hi all,

I'm currently planning a custom loop for my computer.

I am running the following:

Amd Ryzen 7 1800x @ 4.2ghz

MSI Pro Carbon x370

Xfx Rx480 8gb

My plan is to replace my corsair 240mm AIO with a loop running a 280mm top and 140mm rear for my cpu for now and potentially adding another radiator later when i upgrade my graphics card when the next gen cards are out.

I saw a listing in my area for a few used copper radiators in the sizes i need.

My question is: would it be a problem to make my loop using used radiators?

My main concern would be corrosion or deterioration over time used parts may have.

Unless they are leaking their isn't much of a risk or issue. Just make sure to use a flush solution or do the rad dance with them. That should get them mostly cleaned out of any possible issues.

Do personal pikup and look insiide the rads. Some gunk is normal but stay away from corroded ones!

When they are ok clean em with mayhems blitz and let some tap water runn trough them afterwars, then flush with destiled.

Then there is zero problmos ;)

FOLDING MONTH 2021! GOGOGO and save on some heating costs 🙂

100% agree.  If there is no leaks, just clean flush it a few times should be good to go.  Recommend distilled water and a vinegar solution, let it soak for 4-12 hours.  And plug up the ports and shake it a bunch every now and then.

When I clean my rads I normally use sysprep or reboot from primochill. I will mix it up, bring it to a boil and pour it in my rad, cap it up and then shake the hell out of it off and on for a few hrs. Now mind you this is for new rads where I am getting out flux etc, but it works on gunked up rads too.

Anyways each person does it their own way... the boiling isn't needed for a system that doesn't have any flux left imo.
