I'm going to be doing a build soon and was wondering if the psu I already have (450W cooler master 80+ silver) would be able to handle a A10-5800k and a R7 260X? Thanks in advance

Yes, it's plenty. Go crazy with whatever oc you'd like.

My question is--why an APU with a dedicated graphics card?

Cheap price and the apu can run some games on low settings until I get enough for the graphics card too
