Hey,

Recently I have been having lots of problems with Apps not responding. I do not believe it is the apps fault because it happens to several different apps. Even when I click on "close program" that freezes. I am still able to use my computer and it's just annoying. I believe it is Windows' fault so I am going to reinstall it. Now the question I am asking is, Do I only have to reset the disk with Windows. If I reset all of my HDD's does that change anything?

idk tbh

What's your specs?

Are you referring "reset" to "format"? If yes...

If you really want to reinstall Windows, then just reinstall the OS in your selected drive, no need to do a complete wipe.

Is the OS in HDD though? Before moving on I'd check other things like malware or resource usage before reinstalling Windows.

I am talking about a factory reset of windows. And my OS is on my SSD. I am currently checking for malware and I usually don't get above 65% RAM and 50% CPU (It goes above when I render videos)

idk tbh

OBS, File Explorer. Pretty much everything I use except for Chrome and Games. They go "Non-Responsive" and just freeze up when I try and close them then it freezes, if I try to open task manager it either doesn't open, it opens then becomes non-responsive or it opens and I try to close the application with it but it doesn't close

idk tbh

Have you tried disabling LPM (Link Power Management)? Sometimes this works, if it doesn't or instead making your PC perform worse then undo it.

What's your SSD? I'd check it with CrystalDiskInfo (or other method) to check the condition, if your SSD is old then it might be the age.

Your other drives states "Caution" so that's first.

It's pretty odd but usually when it states "Unknown" is usually due to CrystalDiskInfo not supporting your SSD.

Reinstalling your OS "may" help but if your SSD and other drives' state is unknown and not in top condition then it's can be a temporary fix.

Another method to check the state of your SSD can be from CMD using "chkdsk C:" without quotation.

Can you post the Event Viewer? Sometimes, Event Viewer can give us a hint what causing the app to crash.

Did you run sfc/scannow to repair corrupted Windows files?

Any Windows tweaks at all?

Can you run HitmanPro and Emsisoft Emergency for malware?

You can check all of your drive health (SMART) real quick with cmd.

wmic diskdrive get status

But in my opinion, if my system gets to that point of unresponsiveness, it's a reformat coming to start with a clean slate. And since it's clean, you'll know if your drive is failing, corrupt system, or if an app is screwing your system (eg. NetLimiter can cause hangs on some systems).
