SMART Failure 1 SSD

So I've never had this issue before, and I can't seem to find the answer from other people's posts. But my PC was working just fine, and I restarted it because Plex was playing up, but when it rebooted, the motherboard made a series of beeps, air somehow went through my water loop (idk how that happens??) and I got an error in the BIOS that there was a SMART Failure 1 on my boot SSD and it won't let me go past it. 
I checked in the BIOS (picture included) and from what I can see it all seems to be fine from what I've read? Am I missing something? How to get it to boot into windows? Should I be concerned that the drive will fail at any moment?

Double check connections to the SSD are still good, redo it just in case if necessary. Then try again? How about a shot of the error preventing it from booting? Either the SSD is working enough or not, and the limited details in the screenshot look ok to me.

 

If you do get into Windows, try CrystalDiskInfo and see what it reports on SMART.

How old is your ssd. And how much do you use it? like write/read cycles.

It's getting to a decent age, probably 4-6 years old? It's the boot drive, and the PC is constantly on as I mine off it when I'm not gaming and it also doubles as my media PC (media is on a 2 separate HDDs in RAID). So Doesn't have too many read/writes except for whatever windows does and if mining does any.

Yeah. You need a new ssd. 4-6 years is getting to the end of it's life.

If you have important data on it, you should send it to a ssd/hdd data repair company.

From the screenshot, it doesn't allow you to continue booting? From memory, there is usually an option in the bios somewhere that disables the SMART warning. So... find and disable that, and see if it'll boot. I didn't know the warning prevents it from booting at all... If you get in, then backup whatever you need to, and I'd still be interested to see what CrystalDiskInfo says.

Ok, so somehow it let me into Windows (I don't think I even did anything, it just let me in for some reason), downloaded CrystalDiskInfo and got the following... Don't think that's a good sign lmao

Looks like it is warning based on "SSD life left". Basically you're reaching the rated endurance of the SSD. Does the SSD maker have any tools of their own? Just in case generic tools misread the values, as I've had generic warnings on a Crucial before yet Crucial Storage Executive said all was well. At least it is working as inteneded, as an early warning system so you have time to prepare before it may start failing.

 

There was some endurance testing in the past, can't remember where exactly but the take away point was that many drives smashed their rated endurance. So it could go on for a while yet, or might not. I'd still start planning on a replacement ASAP, and back up anything important now.
