Ryzen ram help

Alright so to begin. 

Ryzen 5 1600

Asus strix b350 f 

Ram.  Corsair RGB pro 3000mhz ram

CMW16GX4M2C3000C15

 

I am having issues booting with two sticks of ram. 

One stick inserted into a2 slot. Boots to windows. 

Using a2-b2. Per the manual.  No boot.  

 

Let's call stick 1 the good stick and stick 2 the bad stick.   

 

Stick 1.  Boots fine by itself.

Stick 2. Will not boot by itself.  

Stick 2 in a friends system boots fine by itself 

 

Update I was able to boot to bios using 2 stick at 2133mhz  but not to windows.      Any help would be great as I am absolutely lost at this point as to why it will not boot with two sticks.

Move known good stick to all 4 slots and boot to desktop. This should test each slot. Do the same with the other stick.

 

Can also try A1 and B1, or any other combination there of.

 

Sounds like either a bad ram stick or a bad slot.

Known good stick works on all slots and will boot in all slots. 

 

Suspected bad stick will boot in a friends PC with no issues
