I'm only using a 650w PSU which is like 100$, cooler master bronze. I'm using a i7 960 and is running at 3.2ghz which is its stock speed. I already overclocked my 7970 by about 100mhz for its GPU clock. So isit safe and worth it to overclock my CPU? Also if thats possible how much can I reach :D

Um, if it's power you're worried about, don't worry. Your system should be around 400W depending on other stuff but not anywhere near 600, much less 650. As long as you have a good enough cooler, go for it.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Get a decent cooler and go for it!

As in regard to power requirements: I'm running an overclocked 3570k (4.5GHz, but have been as high as 4.9) and an overclocked GTX670 on a Corsair CX600... You're in good shape ;)

In fact, I highly advise it! Overclocking is a great learning experience, just make sure you have a decent cooler and you've seen tutorials and what not so you don't mess things up :)

Have fun & post results!

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll find myself a new CPU cooler. Am currently using intel stock cooler...

I got a i7 930 running at 4.0ghz with boost off for like 3 years now, I do suggest to take more time to research the overclocking options as the first gen is way way more complicated to overclocked compared to the sandy or ivy bridge CPUs. You have way more options to tweak and able to change the ratio of the multiplier.
