Is this rig good?

Zeorth

Ill be streaming and gaming everyday and am wondering if this would work? How would you change it? I already have the gpu so can’t change that. My goal is to stream at 1080p60fps or at least 720p60fps smoothly. Keep in mind I have a 144Hz monitor it’s 1080p though. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/K4B9tg Budget is around 1000-1200 USD keep in mind that I already have the gpu though so don’t need a gpu

If you already have your gpu, it leaves you at around ~800, meaning you can spend 200-400 on a new monitor. Maybe get r7 or i7 8700k instead for streaming.

Good enough, but I would :

- delete the heatsink, wraith spire is enough, ryzen cpu is not that hot.

- Micro atx board not full atx board.

- Get a smaller case, save some spaces.

- add 2tb hdd, it's cheap now.

Why micro atx? Any good ones? Preferably a orange one

I have quite a lot of space

Even if I don’t need one?

But the 2600X has the same amount of cores and threads as the 8700k for a lot cheaper

For me i have no reason to get a ATX motherboard.

For years i have build an ATX motherboard and never get to use the extra slots other than for 1 gpu.

All the peripherals like usb3, lan and audios already onboard.

Even with matx i still have 3 slots left, i could not think of anything more to add in the future.

And if you think about it, bigger motherboard means longer circuit path to the chipset.

Any good matx then?

The 8700K has better clockspeeds, up to 5GHz (overclock) with a decent cooler.

You should, especially if you're going with that monster of a cooler. Besides, it isn't all that hard trust me, why pay for a CPU only to not push it to its maximum potential.

Apparently TUF mobos are terrible nowdays, so I'd avoid those. I have an R7 2700X running stock speeds on an ASUS B450-F, seems pretty nice so far but it's a full ATX board.

I prefer ATX mobos because I feel like they look a lot better in ATX cases and I dont like MATX cases because I feel like they are so small and get no airflow.

Then I'd go for a good ATX mobo, you could spring for a B450 like mine, though I'd reccomend spending a little more and getting something like the X370 Tiachi from ASRock if you want to overclock, by all accounts it has very good VRMs.

X470 is newer, but basically the same and most of the boards now have the same or worse VRMs as the 370 boards before them. An X370 mobo may need a BIOS update, but if you should be able to get one from a buyer that has updated it (they usually say "ready for Ryzen 2/Promontory" or something). Also the EVGA G3 is a great PSU last I checked, scored very highly with Johnny Guru and mine runs nice and quiet and feels very well built (only got it a week and a half ago so can't speak for longevity, but it's got a 9 year warranty and EVGA is one of the best in the business on that front).

i got a modified powermac case, its basically have bad airflow, installed 1 intake fans and 1 exhaust fan on the case and my ryzen 1600 is solidly 35c, max 50c.

Ryzen doesn't get so hot really, don't worry about it too much unless you're overclocking.
