What are you powering? It's a decent PSU, but rarely the best for the price.

Well, It's kinda complicated. Right now I just need a PSU to replace the one I currently have in my 4 year old PC, but I was planning on getting something decent now and using it in a later build maybe a year and a half from now at most.

So, for now It'll just be powering 4 year old gear. GTX 770, 4th Gen Intel, 16 GB RAM, etc, 3x HDDs/2x SSDs/Externals. Fairly prehistoric specifications. But as I said, my intention is to swap it out into a new PC later on.

Unless you plan on running multi GPU with 1080 Ti equivalent (power draw) cards, that's way overkill. For a single 1080 Ti equivalent card, a good 550W is plenty.

The Whisper M, RMx or Straight Power 11 would be nicer PSUs. If none of those are available at similar prices, the G2 is good.

:)

Yeah, It's definitely overkill for now, but I plan on doing some OC'ing and building a pretty beast rig later on, so I don't want to skimp now and have to re-buy something better later on. Rather overdo it than underdo it.
