Greetings from the North-East here. I got my 1st computer in the early 1990s and it was used mostly as a glorified typewriter and  for playing PacMan. I was able for the most part to to keep up with the evolution of PCs until around 2002 (web 2.0 killed the guys who worked on Dreanwaeaver.

It's that time of year again to consider buying a new PC. The old one is showing it's age and sometimes does things I didn't ask it it to and I don't wanna lose all my stuff in a fiery crash. I thought it might be neat to put one together myself (everybody says it's so easy), but it seems a little daunting for the non -nerd. I think I'll hang around, do some research, learn the lingo etc, by which time I should have accumulated enough knowledge to ask intelligent questions. Either that or go back to Best Buy which I had sworn I'd never do.

Greetings from OGNDY in Connecticut.

Welcome!

Something you will want to take a look at is PCpartspicker.com, they allow you to pick parts and it will help out with compatibility. You can post parts lists in the build planning section here and people will help you out there.

It is really easy to get a pc thrown together and generally cheaper, higher quality, and nicer looking than anything best buy can offer you.

yo b

pc building can be a little daunting for first-time builders but nowadays depending on what you want it's not hard to do, especially if your main interest is a web-browsing pc

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

Local asshole and 6th generation console enthusiast.

I mean it's better than anything else you'll get for the price except when the P300 goes on sale
