Hello everyone

For some time now I'm having a (very) low download speed. I've tried to do many things already but it stays like this. Also the upload speed seems to be normal for some reason.

Some important things:

When connecting a cable directly from the modem to a pc the speed is optimal. Nothing bad here.

However, when doing this from the router it somehow cuts the download speed by 20.

The router itself shouldn't be bad either because I recently changed it - and this didn't change the speed at all (still low download)

Tried to reset modem... didn't help.

Tried to disable DHCP - nothing changed.

Provider: Telenet

Modem: DOCSIS 3.0

Router: Netgear Orbi RBK50

I'm a bit lost now, not sure what I can do. I heard there was an option to let the provider replace your modem to function as a modem only (which isn't the case right now) but not sure if this is going to solve it.

What speed are you paying for and what are you seeing?

How are you testing the speed?

I'm paying for 200 Mbps. And I get <10 Mbps (when using the router).

I'm testing the speed using speedtest.net but also used others to confirm.

Is this wired or wireless?

Over wireless this sort of problem is not unusual if you are stuck on 2.4Ghz with lots of other people conflicting with your WiFi channel.  But wired, it definitely shouldn't happen.

Both tested and same speed on both.
