Wifi adapter

DC

I have my router upstairs and my PC is in the basement.  So I was trying to run a cable on the side of the wall and up at the ceiling but it takes way to long. I ran out of ethernet cable even tho I was using 150 meter long cable. Could you guys recommend me some usb or pci wifi adapter? I'll probably play fortnite or watch Netflix. The budget is really low, just paid first college tuition and I'm BROKE ?

May I say "holy crap, how big is that place" to run out after 150m?  It wouldn't have worked anyway, the maximum is 100m without sticking some sort of repeater/switch every 100m.

Are you sure WiFi will even reach effectively if the property is that big?

We really need to know which WiFi frequency or version the router is using.  Although generally I would recommend getting an 802.11ac compatible one even if you can't use it in that mode, just for future proofing.

If you go USB I would choose something with external antenna, for optimal reception.  Or if you go PCIe something again with an antenna you can position on top of your PC, or at least buy one afterwards as units that come with them tend to be overpriced.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7
