i have a dell optiplex 780 motherboard that needs a new bios and was wondering if i could use a bios that enables overclocking and or undervolting in bios or would it not work unless it gets the custom dell bios

I'm, no Dell Bios Modding wizard, but I doubt it will work if there is even an option.

The Dell boards are pretty basic and the power delivery system won't be up to overclocking.

i was able to apply a 310/380 and 40/190 base clock overclock with setfsb and it be ~90-95% stable

Image result for D'ohWell if the hardware isn't damaged, why not just reflash it with the last bios you had?

i was using the bios it had when i go it and its bricked so unless just putting a bios on a flash drive will fix it i need to get the programmer and clamp first

edit: at least i dont only have the one pc to use, i have a 755 with the same exact base clock genarator the cv184-2apag

AHHHH.  SO you don't need a custom BIOS, you need to reinstall the BIOS from a programmer (probably) and hope it works.

There is an A15 BIOS for that board from 2013 that can still be downloaded from DELL, but I think you are right, you can't boot from it.

What happens when you try and boot?

all it does on power up is use the front panel indicators to say "missing or corrupted bios" and it was using the A15 bios version before i corrupted the bios

Bummer.

Before you spend any other $$$ on this machine should you just replace the motherboard?  They are cheap.
