If turbo boost can give me 4.7GHz speed then whats the point of overclocking? I see that I got the turbo boost enabled and I got an incredibly fast cpu and I don't get whats the point in changing the voltages to the cpu would do any good

All core boost is 4.3ghz same as the i7 8700, overclocking puts all cores at whatever frequency you end up with.

if you're planning to buy a PC what budget/country and current parts list?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Thats single core, with overclocking can get that for all cores and even higher.

Then why can't I enable turbo boost in all the cores by default in bios as in a single core that is given

That's what multi-core enhancement is, but it's no different than overclocking, and overclocking may get you a lower voltage than what MCE does.

I already bought a budget PC(kinda)

MSI ATX Z370A PRO

Intel i7 8700K

Corsair 2400MHz 8GB × 2

Corsair H45 CPU Cooler

Corsair TX750M PSU

GTX 1070 Ti

NXZT Phantom 530

Samsung Quantum Dot display monitor 24inch

A 120MM AIO would be beaten by an air cooler.

4.7GHz is the boost for single core.

4.3GHz is the boost for multi core, or all cores.

hi.

did you ask for any help on here before you bought parts?

motherboard looks terrible with it's VRM

Should have gotten faster RAM

120mm AIOs are not worth it over 120mm $25 air coolers.

Case looks like it has low airflow

MCE is just out of box overclocking on some motherboards, makes the single core turbo the all core turbo.

The cpu is way cooler and I gotta admit that H45 is very quiet in performance...Its a performance model

The motherboard is a budget motherboard. Check again. It has all the necessary features for overclocking. Also it supports RAM upto 3000MHz OC

It's a 120mm AIO, they're all basically the same and if decent will perform similarly.

Just because it's a Z370 board doesn't mean it's good.

It'll be fine, but you could have gotten better to be safer. If you have a good 8700K and zip tie a fan over the VRM you can probably still hit 5ghz.

And you still mostly need a memory kit that's rated for 3000mhz, it's unlikely that a 2400mhz will clock that high without really bad timings.
