After removing drive with nothing on it PC wont boot.

soksncroks

so in my PC i have 3 drives, a 256gb SSD for certain games and my OS, then a 1tb HDD for larger games, and then a 500gb HDD that isnt in use. i built a second pc for streaming and was gonna user the 500gb drive but when i remove the drive (even though it has nothing on it) my pc refuses to boot into windows saying "please select proper boot device" or something to that effect. ive since put the drive back in and it boots just fine. ive checked the boot order and my SSD is the first one with the drive that i want out being last. dont know why this problem persists but it does.

Thanks :)

uninstall the drive in the device manager first while the machine is on , then turn off the pc , unplug it , then turn it on.

oh , and make sure the drive isn't actually in use by seeing if it has any hidden system files on it or something.

If you had the drive connected to the system while installing the OS some recovery files may be on the HDD. Look it up ;)
