I've been slowly upgrading my rig, and I've finally come to the storage part.  I'm still stuck on a Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB, and it's insanely slow.  Any SSD suggestions?  Looking for whatever, I can do M.2 or regular SSD.  Budget is around 60-100 dollars.  Thanks for the help.

I'd get the 860 EVO from Samsung. I use two 1TB 840 EVO's in my NAS and after 4 years of constant use they are holding up just fine. Samsung really makes some great SSD's.

How do the Samsung drives fare against the WD drives?  The WD Blue SSD is significantly cheaper than the Samsung 860 EVO drive.

It really depends on how much storage you need really. A WD ssd isn't bad, but the same could be said for Crucial or Sandisk. If you need something with a lot of storage and you just want speeds that are faster than a mechanical hard drive, a budget SSD like the A55 is great. If you want something better and care less about how much storage you like, I find Samsung drives more reliable than WD ssd's.

It's hard to say in the long term. WD is relatively new in the SSD market, I suppose they are fine too, but if you can afford it I would still choose Samsung.
