Overclocking 4K Display

Hello, 

is it normal that a 4K Screen can be overclocked to 144Hz if the resolution is lowered to 1920x1080? And if that is normal, why is that so?

I think if you run at 1080p on high definition screens like that it'll look terrible. I don't think you should overclock a 4k monitor anyway it's too expensive and risky. 

 

1440p 144hz is the best standard in mine and most gamer's opinions on here.

It's not normal for consumer retail models to be able to do that. Unless you know the panel and controller of the monitor you are sourcing can do that, don't expect it
