So i have this super tiny desktop is the lenovo ThinkCentre m93p its smaller than an SFF and i want an external GPU but the issue is, it doesnt have a thunderbold 3 connection. I know before you guys come in and say "Its a desktop made for work etc." I wanted to say that it has good specs and i know its made for work but its all i got so saying that. I want to know if there are any alternatives? I have a USB 3.0 but i heard that sometimes that doesnt work thats where you guys come in. Anyways sorry for making this super long and i kinda got off track, if there is something that is left unclear ill try to answer it. Thanks in advance!

Its a desktop pc, it has pci-e slot'?

lemme check...

It has 2 pci-e 3.0 slots you can tinker a little bit the case upgrade the psu (if needed) and put a pci extension xD

best solution for you (if I were you) pick a decent psu and a case and you have 100% comp with your computer (if anyone can confirm I think its like that)

If you buy a good psu and a good case you wont have to change when you buy your next computer.(you wont throw any money)

Can you post specs? Main issue there is cheap mobo and low voltage (i think) i5, if you put too much power you can burn , and if its not  external you will need another psu for sure

Case: Corsair 760T  |  Psu: Evga  650w p2 | Cpu-Cooler : Noctua Nh-d15 | Cpu : 8600k  | Gpu: Gygabyte 1070 g1 | Ram: 2x8gb Gskill Trident-Z 3000mhz |  Mobo : Aorus GA-Z370 Gaming K3 | Storage : Ocz 120gb sata ssd , sandisk 480gb ssd , wd 1gb hdd | Keyboard : Corsair k95 rgb plat. | Mouse : Razer deathadder elite | Monitor: Dell s2417DG (1440p 165hz gsync) & a crappy hp 24' ips 1080p | Audio: Schiit stack + Akg k712pro + Blue yeti.

@H-bear-141 The main issue is that your pc is meant to work (sorry XDDD) you can put a 1050ti and a decent psu on  the side and you will work almost 100% sure but you will put too much stress on a cheap mobo, and giving a low power cpu too much work so you can do as I said pick a decent psu and a case put it inside and when you have money, you can use same psu same case & same gpu to build your new pc (please buy a decent psu if you do this)

Case: Corsair 760T  |  Psu: Evga  650w p2 | Cpu-Cooler : Noctua Nh-d15 | Cpu : 8600k  | Gpu: Gygabyte 1070 g1 | Ram: 2x8gb Gskill Trident-Z 3000mhz |  Mobo : Aorus GA-Z370 Gaming K3 | Storage : Ocz 120gb sata ssd , sandisk 480gb ssd , wd 1gb hdd | Keyboard : Corsair k95 rgb plat. | Mouse : Razer deathadder elite | Monitor: Dell s2417DG (1440p 165hz gsync) & a crappy hp 24' ips 1080p | Audio: Schiit stack + Akg k712pro + Blue yeti.

And there is this

Thunderbolt 3 pci-e card , but I dont know if it'll run with your mobo

Edit: It doesnt, it needs to have native thunderbolt 3 tech i think
