So i have been having problems with my ram and getting black screen when i boot up my pc. I have CORSAIR DOMINATOR Platinum Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15. And I am using an asus rog maximus ix code mother board. When i place both the ram sticks accordingly and boot up my pc it starts but i get no display just a black screen. I have tried each ram stick individually and both boot up and I get a display when only using one at a time. I have tried clearing cmos using the cmos button in the mother board but still nothing. I also made sure i was placing them correctly but no luck. Any help? :/

Yes. I had prior to this 4x8gb ram sticks. Which i returned cause i was having same problem and thought it was the ram sticks. And got the ones i have right now and still have the same issue. I thought maybe it might not be compatible with my MB but using either stick alone works just fine. So idk.

What's your CPU?, because if you had the same issue previously with 32GB total then it could be that your CPU can't support that much memory

That is strange. Do you wanna try a BIOS/UEFI update? Even if it is brand new it’s worth a try. If all else fails ask Corsair for another kit to try it out, maybe just bad luck :P

Bios update: (just check it is your motherboard) https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-IX-CODE/HelpDesk_BIOS/

will try this, ty if it doesnt work will give corsair a call. also may it have a thing to do with my psu? since everytime i tried 32 gb and started my pc it booted up then immediately it insta shutdown by itself for like a sec or 2 then it would reboot back again automatically and take me to a black screen. Psu is a corsair 860i

Two modules of RAM should only use about 5-10 Watts, so I wouldn't think it would be your PSU, but if you're on the edge maybe you might be running into PSU issues. Could you give me your system specs and I will try to work it out for you.

Hmm with everything considered it shouldn’t be your PSu since max power draw I calculated was 600W, so do what I told you earlier cause it shouldn’t be your PsUPSU
