Alright keeping this as brief as I can I am having trouble with my blue yeti microphone it for some reason is only being picked up in windows and in discord, I have set it to the default device and default communication device. It does not, however, work in any other program that I have tried it started when I randomly couldn't be heard in R6 Siege and thought it was a problem with the game not being able to pick up my microphone and so I talked a long while with tech support without being able to solve the issue within the past week however I attempted to try it out using steams voice chat and it did not work not only this but when I plugged in another usb based headset it was easily recognized and was able to work this was also the exact same usb port I had my yeti plugged in to. If you need any more information just let me know and I hope we can solve this soon I don't think I have ever had a computer problem that was so hard to solve.

Have you tried disabling any other recording devices so games/programs are forced to use it, and/or have you checked what recording device/microphone they're set to use?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Yeah, I have set the programs that I can to use the Blue Yeti and I have disabled all other recording devices.

I really can't imagine what the issue could be then.  The programs are working correctly since you didn't have issues with a different mic, and the mic is working properly since it works in windows and in discord.  What else is there?  Reminds me of a problem I had a while ago with a mouse that, by logical reasoning, had no cause and could not exist, but yet, it did.

I am hoping that just doing a fresh install of windows works because if it doesn't ill be sad.

Usually that does fix things but not always

Unfortunately, this is one of those not always times...

I have to imagine it's some software issue (ie the mic is physically fine) but not one that gets reset with a reinstall.  The problem with that train of thought is that implies that it's a bug essentially, present in a clean/stock/default install of the software you're having trouble with, and this is a problem because if that were true, hundreds of other people would be reporting this issue and they're not.  Once again we logically conclude that reality is impossible xD oh this is not good :(

Well I have thirteen days until my warranty runs out I will have to just try and get things settled with blue

It's a long shot but perhaps they can even walk you through some troubleshooting.  If anyone knows how to make it work, it should be them since they make the thing and would hear all the complaints.
