Like the title states I am experiencing some weird performance loses with one of my PC's with my XFX 4GB RX 480. It is not overclocked, and all other parts in the system are running at stock speeds.

I am currently running it with a Ryzen 7 1700, and an Aorus AX370 Gaminng 5 Mobo with 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM at 3000mhz.

Currently I have 4 monitors connected all 1080p directly connected to the GPU and this is where my weird problem kicks in. Whenever I turn off any single monitor (doesn't matter which of the 4) my RX 480 clock speed drops from 1266mhz to 300-500mhz instantly, but will shoot back up to normal speed as soon as that monitor is turned back on.

I have checked everything I can to the extent of my knowledge, power settings set at maximum performance etc cannot figure a way out to fix this. Any ideas or experience in a similar situation?

I used to have an issue with my RX 480, it would not go past 300mhz. I have re flashed the bios and reinstalled the drivers, now it's back up and running and I did not have this issue since. I would reinstall the drivers, check if the problem persists. Than re flash the card's bios as a last resort.

Nope no luck, still the same performance loss when a monitor is turned off but when all are on, normal again

So I actually just noticed that it is both CPU and GPU crashing in speeds down. CPU would show 1 or 0% during a game when I turn a monitor off

I would also revert BIOS to stock settings just to make sure. I don't recall doing anything else in my case while trying to revert the card to functioning normally.  The only thing I can think of now are thermals.

Already did, temps are running good at the moment too. 50-55c on CPU and GPU steady 70c during testing on that weird problem

I can't really think of anything else, if the problem is related to the four monitors you use, I would try running the card with only one or two monitors. After a restart and check if the issue is still persists.

That is a very odd issue for sure.

I would update your motherboard BIOS to latest and greatest and set it to optimized defaults.

Of course, do a clean install of Adrenaline so it installs both your latest motherboard and video card drives to re-test.

If it's your CPU and GPU dropping ,it could be a weird motherboard problem.
