Well furmark was no problem but when i was playing Civ 5 it crashed again at 17 mins. so it did help the BIOS update but didn't fix it :/

ok and im guessing you have most resent drivers if so remove the most resent one and get an older one and try

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Yes it could be a bios problem, its is relevent when you computer is having problem is on, they say there is no point in doing a bios update unless you are having any stablty problems and he is now so dont dicredit what i have said.

He hasn't had stability problems for 2 years on the same version of the BIOS. Ergo it isn't a BIOS issue. He also updated his BIOS like you suggested and it didn't fix it. Thus it wasn't a BIOS issue.

His issue is with the GPU. Might have had an area of the VRAM go bad. I've seen it happen before with very similar crashing. Which would explain why it crashes after x amount of time under load and not when he is on the Desktop or YouTube etc.

@BadBlack : see if you can check the GPU memory utilization when in game and find out at what point it crashes. At this point I suspect thermal or VRAM issues. It it is VRAM issues you need to RMA your GPU (probably out of warranty), so you will more than likely have to buy a new one. Like Gecko suggested, it would be good to try gaming with another GPU to see if you can get your system to brick.

Well i think it still has warranty because i think it is a 3 year warranty so should i contact ASUS? To se what they tell me to do?

Yeah i am pretty sure is the GPU because i can browse and play videos but not play at all.

RMA your GPU then. Sounds like bad VRAM. Best of luck OP!

How hot does the CPU/GPU get?

If the MAX temp is below what it should be that is a good thing. Your computer will not shut down if your temps are lower than normal (unless you get into really low negative temperatures by using liquid nitrogen or dry ice to cool the machine).

Go in to bios by pressing F2 or Del when you turn on your computer and go to  tools and it shold say bios rev bios 1207 or something like that!

Well thank a lot to the three of you if ASUS  can give me the cause of the problem i will mark it as the solution and hopefully help any other people with GPU problems.
