well ive been sick the last few days and felt like trash so not being able to be at my desk ive been in bed with my laptop.i don't use it much so i had to clean the dust off it.

so i waited for updates and noticed they were downloading at 1mb/s that was on the 2.4ghz range so i switched to 5ghz with not much better results with downloads booted a little to 2mb/s and it kept disconnecting all the time so at this point i was getting frustrated .what gives there is only 5 to 8m at any given time from me to the router (netcomm nf8ac) i don't have a huge apartment and its never been this bad i gave up on wifi at this point and used a ethernet cable to finally be able to download at 6mb/s

i took screen shots with wifi analyzer and well...

2.4ghz

5ghz

2.4 ghz seems pretty much usable at this point ive seen almost 40 access points all at once some times. 5ghz is pretty open but drops out all the time.i wouldn't think that it is having troubles with wall penetration (they are only wood) but the signal is not that reliable.

so pitch to community .what do i do

do i get an op router like that asus headcrab router that might cut a path thru all of the noise

or do i the c**t approach and block them out with 3 or 4 access points from ubiquiti

other suggestions are welcome

What NIC is in your laptop?

short answer it is wifi, 40 ap can cause issues as they are all competing for space

That doesn't explain the 5ghz behavior.

Well 2.4 Ghz is over congested. This is one of the reasons it sucks living in apartments. 5Ghz is pretty free. Whats the distance between you and the router? How many walls? I did look up your router, its AC capable which means it should be decent. Maybe not the best, but decent. I think Im with @beersykins on this, It could be the WiFi adapter in your computer.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

past experience has resulting in a few findings

Android box blocking all the wifi. Would unplug it and boom wifi works great. plug it back in and once booted wifi went to the toilet.

house that was the only network and something was blocking both the 2.4 and 5. No idea, tried multiple channels, AP/equipment everything but to this day no idea why no speed.

house construction, one house would block all the signal. install the AP in the bedroom and once you step out gone just gone.

we have used various tools to scan the network for other wifi networks and see what there channels are on.

Wireless will NEVER get close to gigabit. But you should be doing better than you are. Try changing the Wifi channels. Try updating the drivers. If could be a bad WiFi card. Just because it's Intel doesn't mean it can't fail.
