Modern PC Games support Xbox 360 controller?

I am planning to purchase a PS4 dual shock controller for my PC. I will going to use DS4 emulator to emulate it as a Xbox 360 controller. I just wanted to know if modern PC games support Xbox 360 controller or else if I should buy a Xbox one controller.

I have an Xbox 360 controller wired, I was never able to use it on any modern game 2015 and up. I hope your experience with an Xbox one controller is better

Yeah, i'm currently using that setup and all my game that have gamepad support will support the game.

What? What game? I have no problem using it in new title like DBZF, Kingdom Come, FC5, Stories, etc.

RL is odd. I've used both Xinput (XB360 equivalent) and my controllers driver successfully in RL. I've had more games support at least Xinput than native. It's Logitech F310.

My friend bought a Logitech controller about a year ago & it had a switch to go between xinput and directx. I thought that was cool.

Yup, it has that. Some games only work with Xinput, some work with either, but driver settings only apply with directx one.
