Ethernet Dead?

Go to solution Solved by davehkiin,

Download something called Snappy Driver Installer Origin.

It's an open source software that searches for all drivers that your PC needs, and it's legit. Get rid of whatever that is.

https://www.snappy-driver-installer.org/download/

Download Application Only

Once you open it it will ask what you want to do, click Download Indexes

Let it download, it will find all the drivers

On the left you can click Select All then Download/Install

See if that helps.

Hello guys, i am not sure if Windows 10 update ruined something or it died overnight..
Basically one night it was working and in the morning its gone ( cant remember if there was update before shutting down the PC ).

Troubleshoots attempted:
Re-Install Driver:

Device Manager ( missing ):

Some crappy driver software detects it:

Just restart the computer after removing all traces of it. It should sort it out itself out.

What do you mean by removing all traces? Also the PC was restarted like 50 times if not more, this happened mby couple of months ago, but i was fine with tethering till now.

Can you uninstall the Realtek Network Driver and maybe install another like Atheros?

I'm not really sure what else to try. Unless you can reinstall Windows 10?

Could be corrupt driver?

Highly doubt its the driver issue, if i tried to install Atheros it would be simply not compatible. I cant even install the compatible one.  Btw it's a PC, so these drivers aren't that confusing like in Laptops which has like 5-8 different ones.  Guess i will have to buy PCI Ethernet adapter.

Basically i thought mby its some another new "Windows 10" bug that alot have experienced.

I would honestly try the reinstall route, gives you a fresh slate and Windows will automatically fetch a compatible driver

Or you could try booting up like Ubuntu on a USB Drive and run it live and see if it works there first
