Oi lads!

I'm building my next PC with the following specs:

- Ryzen 2700x

- GTX 1080 windforce

- ADATA SX8000 480GB

- Toshiba P300 3 GB

- 2x8 DDR4 3000 MHz

At first I thought of going with the x370 gaming pro carbon. But now that I've done a bit of research, I've read that a lot of people said that this mobo doesn't fill the whole potential of the CPU and other components..

Any good tips for which I should go for? I would be doing a lot of video and photo editing, and maybe gaming occasionally.

Thank you!

You could go for an X470 motherboard, this way you wouldn't need to deal with any BIOS issues you may have if you had went with X370.

Just buy any of the X470 boards, but what's your budget for the board?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Is this a gaming rig or a video editor? Feature availability depends on use case. If this is a workstation, you'll want one of the more premium options. If it's a gaming rig, you may not need special things like HSIO and whatnot.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

you're gonna want to spring for more usb 3.1 gen 2 support, and some m.2 support (which is almost universal since ryzen has dedicated m.2 bandwidth.) Also, make sure it has lots of headers for usb expansion, as well as many long PCIe slots for big expansion cards.

Around 150€

Sounds like you have the MSI gaming boards, Gigabyte Ultra Gaming, and ASrock Fata1ty

All of them are probably fine. The Ultra Gaming has a unique feature though for overclocking, VRM isn't exactly the best.
