Don't buy an X58 motherboard unless you get lucky and find one cheap locally. They usually go for $200-300 on sites like eBay and aren't worth buying.

if you can find a board for cheap go for it. i bought a dual socket board for mine with a broken socket for €50, and i managed to fix the socket. so that was a decent deal.

be cautious with that cpu though. games that aren't optimized for 6 cores and 12 threads won't run very well.

My X58 CPU scored higher than a Ryzen 1500 rendering 4k video. X58 is still a potent platform, however the price of working motherboards is the biggest problem.

My X5680 scored 208 vs the 221 of the 1500x. 1600 scored 151.
