Are you referring to a network firewall device or the settings for firewall on your PC or router/modem?

the settings on the computer its self, i was trying to connect to my xbox (to play state of decay on both together) but something was blocked in my firewall so i set it back to default settings and then it connected but after i left my computer for a bit i noticed that it wouldn't connect to the network

If you are using a modern version of windows such as Windows 7 or Windows 10 then you could use a system restore point to go back to a point where your machine worked and then try lowering and adjusting your firewall settings from there in order to get the content that is being blocked to not be blocked by your firewall. Make sure that all of your important data is safe in another location such as on another hard drive or on a NAS so that you will be able to put back any files that are removed due to using system restore (might be referred to something different if your operating system is not Windows 7 or 10. There are other ways that you can fix this problem although there are multiple factors which could cause this issue and we would have to know the cause exactly to get the system to connect to the network. Before trying to restore your system to a earlier point where it worked I recommend trying to get the firewall disabled completely and seeing if it will connect if it does connect then we would not have to use system restore and could get a different firewall on the system. There could be some incompatibility issues between the firewall that you have and other devices on the network (make sure that your networking equipment has the newest software revision and that your computer's drivers are up to date also.

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,

here is a video of what happens, both are handled by the same modem
