Hi Guys,

I just did a quick search of the forum and couldn't find any tips regarding removing bugs that have found their way under monitor screens. I was wondering if anyone had ideas on how I might remove a bug without a full teardown of something that's way outside of my comfort zone.

I have tried using a suction pad like you find on sat nav mounts in an attempt to create some room for it to fall to the bottom but no luck at all with this.

Sorry if I have missed an earlier post about this issue.

Cheers.

This happened to me with my TV just last year, luckily manufacturer eventually decided (took like 4 months) that this was covered under warranty and replaced the whole front assembly for me. But before they did I tried everything, canned air, suction cups, tilting and shaking the screen, nothing worked. I was ready to tear the whole thing apart before they finally got back to me with a verdict.

Unfortunately if the display is out of warranty I believe your only path forward is to tear it down, remove the bug, and reassemble. With my 65" TV that sounded daunting, but with a normal sized display I think it would be doable.
