Which one do i buy?

I have a mobo that supports up to 32gb RAM and up to 2133mhz.But i want to get 8gb of ram but do i buy 1 Ram stick of 8gb with 2133 mhz or 2 ram sticks 4gb with 2133 mhz. Which one will it run faster the 8 gb or the 4 gb .Will i use all the 4 266 mhz or will i just throw 2133 away?

I would personally get a single 8Gb stick, and upgrade the memory in 8Gb increments as needed.

It'll really streamline the RAM upgrade process, and you don't have to replace sticks.

 

That said, single channel is a little bit slower than dual channel.

Ryzen or Intel? Ryzen sees a much larger drop in performance when using single channel memory.
