Hello,

I've been searching the web for this but would love to get an updated answer.

Suppose I have 1 PC with windows 10, 2 monitors 2 keyboards and 2 mice, but only 1 GPU. Is it possible to have 2 users

do whatever they like simultaneously? (Perhaps with windows 10's multiple desktops feature?)

Thanks

The only way I can think this would work would be to use at least one VM.  In that case, no you don't need a second GPU, but if you have one and can pass it through, performance would be better.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Can you elaborate? What would I have to do? And would this allow me to use my main desktop and another person the VM with his own set of KB/mouse?

So you know how you can give USB devices directly to the VM right?  In theory, you could do this with the spare keyboard and mouse, then just make the VM window fullscreen on your second monitor and it would all work.  Just make sure to turn off "mouse integration" or whatever it's called of course :P

I had this idea once but something got it my way and I never finished it... perhaps I should try again.

So after setting up a new VM and giving it my spare mouse/kb, there will be 2 instances of mice and keyboards? i.e. 2 cursors on each monitor and each monitor to respond to a another keyboard?

No, one cursor will be controlled by your main mouse and will just be for the host, and the other cursor will be contained to the VM and controlled by the other mouse.
