  1. Thanks for helping! Yes you're the 2nd person now to recommend an 8-core ryzen cpu. I just don't know how they compare to the i7-10750H for example? Do you have a ryzen laptop?
  2. First of all thanks for helping! What you said about the GPU kind of confused me - does that specific laptop (the xmg) allow it's 2060 to run at higher wattages while other laptops do not? Also, I am inexperienced with AMD's CPUS, so I don't know how does the 4800H compare to, for example. the intel i7-10750H which is the one these 3 have?
  3. Hi, I wanna buy a gaming laptop and I have 3 options which are very similar in hardware but 1 differs in it's original price vastly than the other 2. I don't know which brands are considered better or something like that, and I wanted to get your recommendations please. The first one is Gigabyte Aorus 15G which goes 1500 after a supposedly huge discount off the alleged original 2200. This is the one with the far higher original price than the others. The second is HP OMEN 17 (2020) which goes for 1450 and it's virtually identical to the Aorus except it has 17.3" screen and it's GPU is 2070 a
  4. Hey guys, this is actually quite a serious question...and hardly a simple one. So basically, my friend had his apartment broken into the other day. The only thing we're sure of is that the thief had a phone. There are no leads and I was wondering if anyone happens to know of a way to find out information about his phone that was inside the apartment? Maybe the router saves some sort of information about the devices it sees in the vicinity? Maybe other devices in the house, like an iPad for example, have "seen" the phone or something like that and saved the data?
  5. So after setting up a new VM and giving it my spare mouse/kb, there will be 2 instances of mice and keyboards? i.e. 2 cursors on each monitor and each monitor to respond to a another keyboard?
  6. Can you elaborate? What would I have to do? And would this allow me to use my main desktop and another person the VM with his own set of KB/mouse?
  7. Hello, I've been searching the web for this but would love to get an updated answer. Suppose I have 1 PC with windows 10, 2 monitors 2 keyboards and 2 mice, but only 1 GPU. Is it possible to have 2 users do whatever they like simultaneously? (Perhaps with windows 10's multiple desktops feature?) Thanks
  8. Hello good people. So, it's going to take a while to explain the chain of events leading to my current problem, I know it's convoluted and long but please bear with me and I will try to explain it as best as I can. My dad's pc has 2 hard drives: an old drive from which he created a clone ("new") a month ago, and the clone on which he has been working since. They both have several partitions. Each drive has a partition on which win 7 is installed and one on which win 10 is installed, and he's only been using the new one for the past month. Yesterday, he was trying to back up
  9. I'll recommend that he does that, but first we need to solve this problem..
  10. He works with customers, some of which have win 7 and some win 10, so he needs to know his way around both. It has been working for a while now..there shouldn't be a problem.

  12. What do you mean to bump it up? And why only for non-gaming? Do you have a 32" monitor now and feel it's better? I insist on 4k since I feel it is becoming more and more relevant.
  13. Hey guys, I wanna buy a 4k monitor. I have 2 questions: 1. What is the recommended size for such a resolution and why? (an explanation for a newbie would be appreciated ) I have read that 27-28" is the best, but will 32" be good as well or will it look worse? I will use it 50-50 casual and gaming. 2. Do you have a recommendation for such a monitor?
  14. Hey guys and gals. I came across some forum in which one of the users said that: "CPU-Z does have a very cool feature on the "SPD" tab that reads the JEDEC timing tables from the DIMMs. This information is useful when first setting up a new build-your-own system because the default timings may not be the best for your build. The "Memory" tab in CPU-Z shows the current timing settings." So I downloaded CPU-Z and below are 2 screenshots from it. I have 2X16 GB Hyper-X predator 2400 MHZ ram with an advertised 12 CL, which brings me to 2 questions: 1. I want to make sure that I
