Alrighty.

I've been thinking lately about my recent catastrophe sleeving my power supply. On my power supply, the 24 pin has more than 24 wires. some of the wires coming from the power supply merge together into one pin, and I seem to have ripped the cable from one of these cables.

my question is, if I removed the broken cable and only had the one cable instead of 2, will this affect power delivery? because there will still be 24 pins going into the motherboard?

thank you :)

buying a solder iron, heat shrink tubing and some solder is cheaper than a power supply.

and solder the broken cable to the broken pin?

The crimp doesn't seem broken to me. Generally you want to leave all wiring in their original places as the pin-out on the PSU side is often different from model to model. Grab a soldering iron and attach the wire again. How you want to do that is up to you although I suggest you cut the other wire and splice them all together.

but surely if I just solder the two wires together, I'll get the same current as they're coming from the same spot?

Are they coming from the same spot though? In that case it doesn't make much sense. What PSU is it?

it's a Be Quiet! Power Zone 750w

I might drop them an email
