-are some people's lives easier than others and some worse (much, much) than others'?

-is the American dream real to any extent?/if you try hard enough, do you get anything close to how hard you worked for?

-is trying harder than others worth it? (e.g. trying to get into better university)

-what should I do when I don't have a purpose in life?

-are some things in this society not changeable?

-is there at least companion for each person? (not male/female, but 'friend')

sorry for seemingly random post and questions and I do know that it's better to ask real life people and that this isn't yahoo answers and that this is tech forum but this is like the last place left that I haven't f***ed up my reputation too much to be 'worthy' of asking these questions online.

Basically I'm asking these because a. I'm going thru one of the worst depressive episode (not depression, lol), b. enduring extremely hardship in life for extended periods (not days/weeks/months, but longer - I am starting to understand the Chinese workers' situations) and c. extremely lacking support/help in real life despite repeated cries of help by many means because there are no one around me, real life or on internet.

and yeah, I know this is pathetic and I am basically declaring myself human trash by posting this on a public forum but I saw some great people in this forum who might be helpful in this philosophical/psychological journey I am going through right now

inb4 "you're too young to understand" "you don't even know what's a really bad life" "you're just a depressed teenager who might be possible emo" "man you're f***ed up" "think of the lives of kids in Africa and you're saying your life is bad?" posts...

Internet, please don't disappoint me by posting not helpful/troll/sarcastic posts... really, this really is my last resort

These questions to differ from person to person and where they live. For info, I live in Singapore. (It's in Asia.)

1) Definitely. Some people are born rich, others are born in poverty.

2) Was not as true as it used to be, but if you are smart and competent and know your way around life, you'll go places.

3) Relative to be honest. But it will help. Saying you're from Oxford rather from a local University will give you an edge.

4) Just focus from the current task at hand. Like getting good grades. You'll figure this out later in life.

5) Of course, the world is a giant hypocrisy and bureaucracy. Just lean how to survive and thrive in it.

6) What do you mean? Like sexual companionship or friends? Depends on who you are and the people you meet.

every person who reply to this thread is probably going to give you a different answer, several of these are subjective and depend on how you view things.

1. yes  definitely .. some people were born with a golden spoon and never worked a day in their life while others starve to death, to a less extreme example, many people have very tough low paying jobs and no way out while others have it easy with a golden sallary, making more than they could ever spend.. it is imbalanced and it always will be .. the poor suffer for the rich.

2 not always, as said, the world isn't always fair.

3 yes.

4 honestly, theres no such thing as a grander purpose in life, life is pointless and people need to accept it, however you can give yourself a purpose, be it a scientific goal, children, a hobby, whatever, i enjoy just being here and observing, i don't necessarily want a goal, just give it time, you will figure things out eventually.

5 everything changes with time.

6 i think so, but considering how big the world is, language barriers etc, you wont necessarily meet with said person, there are alot of people though, chances are high that you will meet someone with a similar mindset.

edit: as people in this thread have said, these are topics better suited for being discussed in a chat, a forum doesn't really suffice to get the points across.

3)Depends on the situation

4)In life you must be happy.

5)Umad?This society was made so you can't change it too much.Only the important people and time can change it.The only thing you can truly change is you, and then you might also change your friends.

its kind of hard in my opinion to fully express my thoughts on deep situations like purpose of life but in super short, there is always something around the corner constantly changing your outlook on life and possibly your perceived purpose. It will always get better because from rock bottom you can only go up right?

- As long as we live in a predominately democratic society, some people will be born into more fortunate situations than others. It's something we can't change.

- Yes, keep in mind that the American dream has lost its original meaning IMO (then again, I am Australian/Japanese sooooo eh?)

- Yes, not that I put in a lot of effort in general (which has come to bite me in the ass)

- Everyone has a purpose, you may be lost for now but you will find a passion which will drive you forward. Let life take you to places.

Do I think there is a true purpose in life? Yes and no, I believe the most basic "purpose of life" is to eat, shit and have babies however, it's up to you to decide what else you do with your life.

- Some things can not be changed but what makes living worth it (IMO) is that you have the potential to change someone's life for the better - it may not be a change in society, but it's worth it

- Yes, there will always be people you can not get along with but you are bound to find people you can spend time with and enjoy and don't count out your hand... hahahaha.... sorry You have to be ballsy and be the initiator for conversation, what do you have to lose? (Asked a girl out on Friday... I asked, I didn't wait around for life to go well. I gave no shits about the consequences and went in head first... the result is mixed)

Bro... it's all g, I had a mental breakdown earlier this year, went through a phase a depression and attempted suicide (couldn't do it in the end, hence I'm typing this lol). You can't change the past - don't dwell on it, the present is controlled by you and the future will play out on its own. You have to hope for the best and look up.

Please don't call yourself human trash, after slitting my wrist a bit (have a scar to remind me) and thinking about what I've done in the past, I realized that I've done things I was rather proud of - look in the past, talk to family, ask people, ask yourself: what have you done? What do you enjoy doing? What do you want to do? Are you really alone? By asking yourself or others these kind of questions, you will find that spec of light which in time will grow.

While I'm no psychologist, if you do want to chat, I am more than happy to talk over PMS, Skype, RazerComms, RaidCall, etc.

If you really do think that you're going to breakdown, or you want a safety net, grab you school counselors phone number - my school counselor helped me a ton during my phase.

Sorry if this sounds like I'm going in circles... tired from work/hard to express the feelings I have regarding these kind of problems due to personal experience.
