i Will ask the vendor if they have ryzen components in their inventory,

but i have a doubt… i had once AMD CPU and MOBO, but they were high electricity consumer and the CPU fan was loud, like crazy,

If you haven't been keeping up, ryzen is one of the most efficient architectures around now, and their stock coolers are pretty alright.

FX was sub par, but alright for cheap 8 core machines over i7s for a short while.

Just look for the R3 2200G, a B350 board with heatsinks, and fast dual channel memory. All of the R3 chips have about the same performance, the G chip is more useful overall due to the iGPU if it's ever needed.

Here's the R3 1200 and R5 1400 vs some older CPUs

Hello!

I would like someone to tell me if i am not about to commit a mistake.

im going to buy a new MOBO, CPU and RAM, and i selected this:

1. i5-7600k
2.ASUS B250 ddr4
3. corssair 8gb 2400MHZ LPX

but the seller also gave me the following components as options:

1. GIGABYTE GA-B250M-DS3H
2. i5 7500

My need:

im wont overclock even with a "k" CPU, but i like that extra raw power of the "k" version of the 7600, and that's why i didnt go for a z170 o z270 mobo.

so, with that mindset, is the asus mobo a better option from gigabyte?
am i too crazy choosing a "k" cpu just for raw power?

what i already have:

1.asus strix gtx 970
2.PSU 550watts
3.500gb samsung SSD
4.2Tb seagate HDD

thanks in advance for the help and advice

How much are you paying for that stuff, and what's your budget/country otherwise?

Can likely get an R5 CPU + ASrock Pro4 if those prices are near retail.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

i am from panamá

and i would be spending about 500-600$ for all that

and its a a Little more expensive than the alternative shop at my country, but this one allow me the option to play 10% and take the product and pay monthly.

sadly they dont have many components options, so what i posted its all i can get with my Budget fromthem

Would highly suggest you shop around for AM4 B350/Ryzen parts, or at least an older i7. That price sounds insane for an i5.

i got a question about ryzen...

i already have a gtx 970... is that compatible with an AMD mobo and CPU?

All PCIe GPUs are compatible with Ryzen and Intel.

Look for something like this

A Ryzen 5 1600 with a B350 mobo with the cheapest 3000/3200 mhz Ram in 2x4GB configuration.

Even the cheapest AM4 Ryzen CPU is a better option IMO, since it leaves you with a modern upgrade path.

Indeed. I doubt Panama has a 100% price increase over the US.

7th gen is not worth it anymore. Even for 220$ you get better 8th gen intel and 1st and 2nd gen Ryzen parts

That was back in the FX days. Things changed with Ryzen. Power consumption is way down. Their stock coolers are decent and will keep their CPUs at an ok temp often with room for OC.

It's one of the better CPUs, but if the R5 1600 is way cheaper just grab that, performance difference isn't too huge.
