C:/Windows/Installer

Do NOT remove that folder. It contains the installation media for any programs you have installed that use the MSI format.

If you remove it, you'll be unable to remove, modify, or update any software that relies on those files.

Rather run Disk Cleanup as admin and see if that takes care of it for you. You can also run the storage sense “clean up now” under System in Windows Settings.

There are only a few subfolders you can empty (not remove) in the Windows folder, but this isn't one of them. If you need more space, remove unneeded programs/games and delete temp files etc.

@Joshua01001010

I said not to delete it, but I remembered a utility from a while ago that helps clean up orphaned msi files - ones that aren't in use by programs actively registered in your registry. those are all contained in that folder.

Go here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/patchcleaner/

It can delete files from that directory *relatively* safely.

Disk Cleanup -> cleanup system files

it will automatically get rid of the unnecessary system files you don't need.

windows saves installation / updates files by default in the case of you need to revert to the last version.

but if your windows is stable enough you can safely remove them.
