Vid Editing CPU Needed

Hi,

I am going to make a PC under GB£600 but I am not sure on the processor. 

I need a 6+ Core for video editing (powerful enough for green screen and 2 overlays)

 

I am currently looking at either:

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (3.4GHz Base. 6 Cores. GB£155.79)

or

Intel i5-8400 (2.8GHz base. 6 Cores. GB£147.99)

 

or or should I wait for AMD 3rd gen / Intel 9th Gen?

I would get Ryzen personally, you get 6 more threads over the i5-8400.

I am sure that the next generation of CPUs will be a lot more efficient and more powerful although if you do not need a CPU immediately you might want to consider waiting for the release of new CPUs.

The intel core I5 8400 might be more efficient for certain computing tasks although if you are looking for better performance then I the Ryzen CPU would be the one to choose as it has more computational power due to having a different base clock (higher), CPU architecture, and more threads when being compared to the Intel model of CPU.
