CPU Scratching

When I insert my i5-8600k into its LGA 1151 slot and try to secure it, the CPU's heat spreader is scratched by the metal bracket. What could be causing this? is it normal?

Yeah it’s compatible, the scratching is normal if you’re talking about where the bracket sits in the heatspreader
