4K HDR capable HTPC/Mediaplayer?

So it's time for me to buy a HTPC/Mediaplayer for my Samsung Q6F 65" 4K TV.

What I want it to be able to do:

  • Play 4K, 10 Bit, HDR10 HEVC files in high bitrate (50Mbps+)
  • Preferably run Kodi (Or other slick/good GUI)
  • Cost no more than $200
  • No need for apps like Netflix, YouTube etc because I already got that in the TV itself.
  • Have ETH, Only Wifi is a no-go.

I bought the Mi Box but I returned it because it was crap, it lagged like hell and the Wifi was very unstable.

I still got my old i7 2600K with 16GB RAM and a 120GB SSD so I've thought about getting a GTX 1050Ti for it.

It also got a Asus Xonar DGX soundcard and I got a 5.1 system (Some doable Logitech).

why do you want a separate media player when the TV already has a decoder built in?

All you need is to supply the video files via USB or LAN and let the TV play it, the only thing you will have a problem with is DTS sound because of corse Samsung did not but a license for this...

The TV can't runt Kodi, nor play 4K HEVC HDR10 files.

However, I installed LibreElec on my NUC6CAYH agian and updated to Kodi 18 Alpha and behold, it plays my high bitrate files (50-60Mbps+, 4K, HDR) perfectly.

You can use Plex. My Samsung TV has it in it's store and in my PC there is Plex server installed with my movies collection and they are connected that way. No problems, nor with DTS sound to be honest as someone mentioned.
P.S. I was using Kodi before when I was using my PC for watching movies.
