AI Suite III Automatic Overclocking

Go to solution Solved by helping,

Clear CMOS, and uninstall AI suite

ez mode fix all.

Hello!

A few days ago I installed the ASUS AI Suite III which goes together with my Z87-A motherboard, because I wanted to access the fan curve controls and such.

I noticed that my motherboard was automatically messing around with the voltages of my CPU and gave me a 200-400Mhz boost on my i5 4670k chip. I was fine with that since I assumed that the software is overvolting it based on how hot the chip is.

Today I opened up the software again, and found that it's gone ahead and messed around with it further, and I'm getting nervous.

I'm using the stock cooler, and it seems as if my 3.4Ghz chip is running on 4.1Ghz by default. Why? Can I revert back somehow?

I never really intended on overclocking my CPU in the first place, and I'm slightly annoyed that my computer has decided to do it for me.

I'd prefer my CPU not melting :[

uninstall ai suite

its a great marketing tool, it doesnt work very well in the real world. its overclocking your system via the OS, not low level from the bios.

I didn't think of that. In fact, I didn't even know that something would automatically be able to change my BIOS. I restored the default BIOS settings and things are back to normal.

Thank you!
