Can a GPU screw with mobo comp.

So i had this problem with my North Bridge and South Bridge chips not initializing so i took out my GPU and a stick of RAM and it seems that my problem is solved. Could either of these cause those two things to not start up?

Yeah that seems the most logical when you think about it but i was having problems with frame rates to which makes me think GPU

660ti and 4770K, if anything my HDD is bottle-necking me, im upgrading to a 840 evo so that one should go away

Storage doesn't bottleneck by more than 2-3 FPS.
