Yeah of course you can :) Linus have the habit to jump with an SSD from a station to another so there is no problem. The only difference is the fact that he use SSD and you have an HDD.

But it is worth to mention the fact that windows might detect the change and it will ask you if you have upgraded your PC. Your naturally answer will be yes and everything will be fine.

The only difference will be in drivers (loaded for new hardware), nothing else.

And about win10 vs older systems - I moved drives even in XP era, then Vista, 7 etc. Works in 98% and for rest 2% - there are tools that can help with dissimilar hardware that makes problems (and fix takes about few seconds).

In one case, for better stability, I removed some old drivers (using ghostbuster tool).
