4k rgb full 8bpc vs 444 8bpc vs 422 10bpc , 12bpc

Go to solution Solved by EarthWormJM2,

I have a GTX 1080 (non Ti) on a Samsung UHD 4k display, and I have messed around with this to my wits end. I ended up with 4:4:4 at 8bpc because 4:4:4 seemed to have the best color spectrum and contrast. There are some Chroma test pattern images you can pull up and try switch between them to see what looks best. 4:4:4 has (to me anyways) an over all slightly darker feel, but bright colors pop a lot more. The other options seemed a bit more saturated (again to me). It boils down to personal preference, but hope that helps you out a bit.

hi guys

i was just wondering what i should have my 1080ti set to for all around usage movies, gaming and monitor?

422  8bpc,10bpc or 12bpc
