So basically pc did a Windows update last night, went to go on it today and it's not booting. Lights and fans are on and spinning. One monitor turns on but it's just a black screen. Other monitor is still on standby mode. Keyboard and mouse some times turn on. Bit confused on what's happened. Would appreciate any help!

You can try switching your display over from the graphics card over to the built in graphics and seeing if it responds to that. That should help isolate the issue to the graphics card alone or to the entire system. If it does show the screen with the built in graphics, you either have an issue with your graphics card or the BIOS for some reason is only accepting the chip graphics and not a PCI-E device for video upon start up(I had this issue with an AsRock Z170 Extreme 7+ before).

In any case, your OS doesnt actually kick in until after the computer has done a POST properly. You can test this by disconnecting your hard drive from the computer and trying to power it on without a drive. It should still get you to the BIOS screen from there. If it doesn't,then your issue lies outside of Windows.

Seeing as this occurred right after a windows update, I'd say it's a driver issue of some kind.

Do what Astarore said above and try booting from the CPU's graphics by plugging the HDMI into your motherboard instead of the graphics card to make sure it's not dead, but don't assume it's dead either way.

Try booting into safe mode with the HDMI in the GPU and if the screen comes up, it's a driver issue.

You can then use DDU in safe mode to uninstall the graphics card driver

Then after it reboots, install the newest driver for the card.
