I am new to the PC building community and have recently decided to build my inaugural gaming rig. I have decided to build a 4K Mini-ITX RGB gaming rig for triple A titles. I have been stuck with a Windows Vista for over a decade now and I think its time to upgrade. I have done some research on the parts and have compiled them onto PC Part Picker :https://pcpartpicker.com/list/G2tDw6

I have been saving up money and planning on working part time so budget is not a problem. Price range should be around that of the one projected in PC Part Picker.

I would like this rig to last me around 5 years.

The build is based on an Asrock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX/ac LGA1151 DDR4 Motherboard. I chose this motherboard simply because its socket type fits the I7 8700K CPU I want to use ( Presumably one of the high end CPUs ) and that it has integrated Wifi and Bluetooth capabilities. However, I am unfamiliar with what its Z370 Chipset does.

Although PC Part Picker has not detected any incompatibilities with the hardware that are chosen, I worry that there may be some unforeseen issues that may crop up.

Would like to know if there is any areas of improvement with regards to the choice of hardware.

Lastly, I would like to ask whether my system is capable of overclocking. Since I am new to this, I have only heard briefly about what overclocking is. Apparently, overclocking CPUs, GPUs and DRAM may improve performance. Nonetheless, I am also concerned about the ramifications of overclocking. What good does overclocking the various components do? Should I overclock one or all of them? I do also want my gaming rig to last quite a while. Do the potential improvement of performance outweigh the longevity of the rig?

Edit : Some of the specs of the rig. Check the link to PC Part Picker for more specs. Thanks.

Motherboard: Asrock Z370 Fatality Gaming / ITX ac

Case : NZXT H200I Mini ITX Case

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X52 AIO

CPU : Intel Core i7 8700K

GPU : Zotac GTX 1080 Ti Mini

DRAM : Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 gb 8x2

PSU : Rmx 750 w 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply.

SSD : Samsung  960 EVO M.2 nvme 500Gb

HDD : Seagate Baracuda 2 TB 6gb/s

Case Fans : NZXT AER RGB         x2

I am worried about overheating on my system. Will that be a likely occurrence with my current hardware? How can I know for sure?

Thanks and cheers.

Personally I don't think overclocking offers to much GPU's these days deal with them self as an example.

Have you considered what case you are going to be putting this in?

So overclocking isn't really something I should undertake, I presume? Awesome. Just for OCD's sake, let me just get the list of components out here.

Motherboard: Asrock Z370 Fatality Gaming / ITX ac

Case : NZXT H200I Mini ITX Case

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X52 AIO

CPU : Intel Core i7 8700K

GPU : Zotac GTX 1080 Ti Mini

DRAM : Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 gb 8x2

PSU : Rmx 750 w 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply.

SSD : Samsung  960 EVO M.2 nvme 500Gb

HDD : Seagate Baracuda 2 TB 6gb/s

Case Fans : NZXT AER RGB         x2

I am worried that I won't be able to get enough cooling with my current AIO and case fans. How can I check how much heat is dissipated with the AIO? I have heard that's called the thermal design power but I cannot find that kind of specification on NZXT's website on the Kraken x52. Help?

Cheers
