Stupid question about filesharing.

I have a modem/router(100mbs), and an additional router for only wireless. I have several PC's in my home and I'd like to get more speed than that :P. Is a 1gbs switch enough investment or do I have to buy a new router?

Only the devices connected to the gig switch will operate at gigabit, the rest of the network will be 10/100.

If you only need a faster connection between 2-7 devices get a cheap 8 port gigabit switch, if you need the whole network to operate at gigabit, look into buying a new router.

Ok, I only needed the faster speeds between 2-4 computers so I will go with a switch. Anyway thanks for quick response.
