Hello everyone. I am looking into possibly upgrading the LED lights in a very old Alienware case, the Alienware Area - 51 ALX (X58) case. I wanted to know if anyone has changed the LEDs in one before and how difficult is it to do? I might just get better ones for the alienware software or just might grab some Aura sync ones.

Hi doubleagent214,

Looking at their website I didn't find anything on their manuals about it, so that's likely not doable or at least it is not deigned to be replaced, you could do it yourself but that's at your own risk: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/alienware-area51-alx/manuals

The daughter board is how they are all controlled and it looks like they are only 2 pin LEDs, but I just want to remove the ones currently in the case and replace them. They are very cheap so the colors look like crap and the color shifts and painful to watch.

Sounds like some soldering needs to be done to replace those LEDs, contact them and ask just in case. I doubt they offer any kind of upgrade for this portion of the computer but I may be wrong and just assuming, Or maybe a person with the right tools to solder the LEDs again in the board can help you.
