I bought some geil super Luce memory and now I want to upgrade to 16gb from 8gb. I am having a hard time finding exactly what I already purchased this is what I have GeIL SUPER LUCE RGB SYNC AMD Edition 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666 (PC4 21330). Now if I buy geil super Luce at 3000mhz and adjust the clock speed to 2666mhz and the adjust my timings like my current memory will there any issues? Thanks in advance.

You don't need to downclock your memory manually. This will be done automatically when you boot up your system.

You should simply insert the 2 additional RAM modules in your free RAM slots on your motherboard and you'll be good to go.

I can’t find what I purchased anywhere it’s like it disappeared and besides it the same price I paid for my current kit.

If the 3000 MHz kit costs - for some very strange reason - exactly the same as the 2666 MHz kit, then I don't see a reason not to go for the 3000 MHz kit.

I thought it was strange too but it’s the same price for some reason. Thanks for the advice was looking for a 2nd opinion.

I find it strance as well. Especially with RAM prices going through the roof nawadays.

But if both prices are the same you sould definitely go for it. :) The 3000 MHz kit will simply run at 2666 MHz without you having to manually adjust its speed.
