I put my computer together yesterday and left it on over night. This morning, when i wake up, i can hear a little noise like its hibernating. I hit the power button, but nothing. My board gpu LED is on, the STRIX rgb is on as well. Im confused... the fans wont turn on either. It looks like a dead front IO, but it was working just finr yesterday... Any other reason why this might have happened? I'm confused...

Specs : b350f strix, pny970, ryzen 2600, 8gb gskill ram, sandisk 120gb ssd, wd 1tb blue.

Only the orange led next to the gpu is on, as well as the rgb lighting on the heatsinks

I mean the standby power lights illuminated on your motherboard, not your graphics card.

What is your motherboard?

What is your PSU?

I suspect the PSU being the culprit. Just because you get standby power lights illuminated on the motherboard does NOT mean that the power supply is still good.

This is a weird one so bare with me, oh summoning our PSU resident @STRMfrmXMN for his input too.

Might also want to verify your Front Panel Pins are all securely placed. I can't even tell you the amount of times that during cable management I've pulled a pin too loose.

Past that, I would definitely check the PSU (As Chris recommended) and if nothing then, check to make sure no pins were bent in the CPU Socket

The Rosewill HIVE series is not the most reliable power supply one can buy (second to worst tier). Previous threads that popped up claimed a similar problem. At least 75 % of the time the standby power light is still on, but darned if the computer won't boot until the PSU is replaced. At which point it fires right up.

I doubt the cpu pins are bend because i didnt even touch them. However, the psu is a very valid reason since my gpu also crashed prior when running the valley test.

I'll try to jump start the board see if it works. If not, ill try on another psu. Thank you everybody for the help!

I definitely suspect the PSU. But I'm wainting for the PSU expert @STRMfrmXMN's opionion :D

weirdly, when i got home, the BIOS screen was on. like some ghost came and turned it on. however, i have an issue. like stated above, the GPU crashes after a bit of valley test and even 10 minutes into full screen game. Me too i suspect the PSU at this point...

Not a great PSU. Could be the source of the problems. Pretty suspect since it seems your PSU couldn't supply super low output on the minor rails and couldn't resume it.

Yeah, that's pretty suspect. Get something like a Corsair CX550M and see if it solves the problem.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

@Chennyluo Everything is indeed pointing towards the power supply. Replace it with a top tier unit and I expect that your problems will be solved. :-)

After a full afternoon of testing, things became apparent. I dont think its the PSU problem. I swapped the psu, the gpu still crashes after i get out of the shower (i left valley on). Tested on another PC still crash. It just shows a grey scree. The monitor is still receiving signal and the gpu fan is still running with a gpu board. Then, i put in a old 5770 and it runs just fine (just super laggy). Might be water damaged since i had to refund a defective alphacool kit... Welp... Thanks guys for the help! I'll swap thr gpu for a rx580 and see how it goes. I'll lurk out if i ever need help again! Thank you for being awesome!

Well... that's an anticlimax to the story...

So the problem is solved? Have you run some stress tests for an extended amount of time?
