I want to buy a new pc over 2-3 months. I am waiting for the new geforce gpu's (if they even get released). I am also looking for a high end gaming cpu with which I can play video games in 4k for at least 5 years without any performance problems. At first I was searching for an i9 cpu, but then I found out that single core performance is better for gaming . My question is will multi core performance in video games improve and what cpu do you recommend (without taking the price into account)?

Buddy, that GPU isn't enough for 4K gaming for the next 5 years. That PSU is garbage, and that CPU cooler is better off being replaced with a decent air cooler.

Any flagship cpu thats out at the moment, and beyond will be good for 4k gaming for 4-5 years, im not saying the new i3's but r2700 8700k/8086 etc...It's the video card you will have to worry about.
this shows 4l gaming with a 1080, and a 1080ti. I like to play games on max settings with no less then 60fps, im not into 4k yeat as my gpu's wouldnt handle it, so im hoping the new geforce cards will be better sutied then current cards. a 1080 on highest next to highest settings barely stays around 60fps, while the ti is a bit more then 60 on ultra, how long will it be that way? And there's some of you who like more fps, and neither crack 90 fps in many games in 4k. I would wait for the new cards see what they bring before buying a 1080 or ti. I know the flaming will begin but in games that support sli/cf which isnt all that support if positvely in performance but if the games you play do, to achieve ultra settings in 4k and a high fps thats an option too.

Firestrike
i7-8700k @5.0GHz w/ 1.30v, Corsair h100iv2, Gigabye Aorus gaming 7, 16GB(8x2) 2666MHz ddr4, Dual RX470's OC'd to 1390mhz(atm) in corssfire - liguid cooled with corsair h60's, 3.25 TB in Samsung SSD's, anidees white crystal cube case

Retired:
i5-4440k @3.2GHz, gigabyte ga-z87x-ud5h z87, 24GB DDR3, 3x1TB Seagate Baracuda HDD.
